Cosmetic Dentistry

Teeth whiteningDepending on the extent of the cosmetic problem there are several methods available to help you look and feel better about your smile (and yourself). Cosmetic procedures are more affordable and available than ever before.

We’re very excited about our bleaching technique. It is very color stable usually requiring no touch-ups years later. For full arch bleaching a special appliance is constructed which is worn at night for up to fourteen nights. Many times the patient does not need to bleach for the entire 14 day interval to achieve the final result they desire.

Cosmetic Contouring

This is an old procedure used in Hollywood for many years that has taken on new interest in this era of esthetic dentistry. In this techinique, enamel is reshaped to create such things as even lengths, rounded more feminine or stronger more masculine contours. Overlapped teeth can be modified to create the illusion of being better aligned. Minimal enamel is removed in this service, but the final result can be quite surprising.

In this technique, new tooth colored materials are actually bonded to the enamel. This service can be used to close spaces, create different contours on teeth, to eliminate unsightly congenital defects, lengthen teeth or create the illusion of properly aligned teeth where they are not. It is very conservative and requires no or minimal enamel reduction.

VeneersVeneers are thin coverings made of either composite tooth-colored filling material or porcelain that are bonded to the outsides of the teeth. Porcelain is the material of choice for the best esthetic and long-lasting result. Since it involves minimal tooth reduction, it is much more conservative than crowns. Once the veneers are placed, a patient’s smile will have teeth that look more even, better aligned and whiter.

Porcelain Crowns (non-metallic)

With recent advances in materials, dentistry can now offer crowns constructed of all ceramic materials with no metal substructure. These crowns are very esthetic because the natural translucency of the porcelain is exhibited.
